I was treated for WTS in January of this year. My physcian was skeptical at first but agreed to try it. After only 2 cycles of 15 mcg I feel wonderful again and my Dr. has now treated several others and is very impressed with the results. THANK YOU Dr. Wilson

I too as many others feel so much better on the WTS protocol! It was such a different approach and at first I thought it was a real bother.... taking your temperature, your pulse, cycling up and down. But I have had an attitude adjustment since first beginning this treatment!! I now know after being on this for 7 months (and a month ago adding ThyroCare to raise my temp) that I feel SO much better in countless ways. I am fortune to have a ND to work with thru this process. I have not reached a normal temperature of 98.6 but each time I cycle my temperature goes up and stays up higher each time. My average temperature before was around 95 and sometimes lower. As you know with all the symptoms that develop with such a low temperature other doctors think you are crazy or they just want to treat you for your symptoms where this treatment is treating the root cause (your body temperature). I want to thank you Dr. Wilson and staff for your dedication and for blessing so many lives. ~ Linda

I have suffered migraines for more than 40 years (since puberty) and have heard it could be related to thyroid. However, my T-3 and T-4 tests are usually normal (borderline low only a couple of times). I have noted that I seem to be hypothyroid in my symptoms, but again, no concurring lab work. Very low dose thyroid medication didn't work either. I now have been on ThyroCare and Healthy Foundation for almost 3 months and have had only a couple of migraines in all that time. My typical month has always had a minimum of 4 to 6 migraines and at times I've had as many as 3 to 5 migraines a week! I was off the Healthy Foundation for 9 days in mid January while on a trip and paid for it with 3 days of migraines shortly thereafter. I am doing well now. I do believe I'm finally on the right track and am committed to this for at least another 2 months just to make sure it's not a coincidence or a placebo effect. I will re-evaluate at that time whether to continue or not, but at this point, I'm pretty sure it is working for me. I have always believed that there was a natural way of bringing "balance" to my system, and have tried everything imagineable with no luck so [far]...

Question & Answers

Hi,

I would like to again express my thanks to Dr. Wilson and everyone else who makes this wonderful treatment available. T3 therapy gave me my life and my happy husband back with just one cycle for each of us, it was nothing short of miraculous! I digress, I feel great and have been off T3 therapy for a couple of months but I still check my temp at least once a day. My temp ranges between 98.8 and 99.4. This is without ANY thyroid or T3. I do not take any medications except progesterone creme. I am 27 yo, I do cardio and weights regularly (I did them before treatment too and have not had any change in routine). I am taking thyrocare 2 pills BID, alfalfa, Vit C, E, D, B vitamin complex, and icelandic kelp. Is this high of a temp normal and healthy after treatment? Is this common? Do I need to get it lowered somehow? If you could let me know that would be wonderful.

Thank You

Denise W.

Glad to hear you two are doing so well!

It's not very common for the temperature to run that high after treatment because people usually stop increasing the dose when their temperatures reach 98.6 (as you may have) and there temperatures usually don't go up beyond that.

It may be that the thermometer you're using is no longer accurate (especially if it's digital), or it may be that it wasn't ever very accurate (some thermometers are a little off). You could check your temperature with another thermometer and see what it reads. If people are feeling well it doesn't seem worrisome for their temperatures to run in the 99's. However, if people want to lower their temperatures they can try periods of fasting, which tends to lower body temperatures.

Hope that helps,
Denis Wilson, MD

Dear Dr. Wilson,

I have all of the symptoms of low thyroid function, including very low daily
temperatures. Yet, recent TSH tests have come back very low...01
I know that you cannot diagnose my situation specifically, but in general,
what are possible reasons for a low TSH in someone with low thyroid
symptoms?
Thank you

As you know, usually a low TSH is considered indicative of an OVERactive thyroid gland. If also the T4 is high that further suggests that the thyroid gland is making too much thyroid hormone. But people with these numbers can STILL have low temperatures and low thyroid symptoms because it is possible to be hyperthyroid and have Wilson's Temperature Syndrome at the same time. Typically, the course of action in such a setting would be to address the hyperthyroidism first and then correct the WTS. (P.S.- I heard of a doctor in Oregon that actually treated a person with hyperthyroidism and WTS using T3 alone. Apparently, the T3 had a suppressive effect on the patient's thyroid system and also corrected the thyroid imbalance due to the WTS).

Best,
Denis Wilson, MD

I have read on the web that L-tyrosine is very important in the treatment of the throid, particularly hypothyrodism. however, I notice this item is not in your thyrocare. What is your opinion or advice about L-tyrosine? Thanks! Sharell J.

I believe that practically anything can be a miraculous substance if it happens to be what a person is deficient in. We don't have it as a separate ingredient in ThyroCare but we do have iodinated tyrosine in Thyroid Px (tyrosine is iodinated before it is incorporated into thyroid hormone). ThyroCare is very helpful for many but we think of Thyroid Px as covering more bases.

Cheers,
Denis Wilson, MD
