Hi, I first heard about your supplements while watching Dr. Becker's show, and then I visited your web site. I have had low temp my entire life and was very interested in starting ThyroCare and Adaptogen. Having so many problems and giving up on MD's who just look at you like "you need to get a hobby" that I would try all types of homeopathic remedies from the Health Store hoping I would find something to help me feel better. I decided after taking ThyroCare and Adaptogen which made me feel 100% better to try the liquid Healthy Foundation as well as the ThyroCare and Adaptogen. So I ordered all three and a thermometer. The biggest surprise of all has been the Healthy Foundation! The second day, I had energy like I haven't had in years and also to my surprise was how little heart burn I was having. I feel alive again and so far I have been experiencing less brain fog. All I can say to you is this is my miracle!! Thank God &. Sincerely, Marian I.

I am delighted with my progress. In less than a month my average temperature has gone from 95-96 degrees to 98 degrees on an average. My energy level has increased and my symptoms of anxiety and distress are gone. Love the product (ThyroCare and Adaptogen) and will recommend it to all my patients.++ Thank you, Domenick

I ordered the ThryoCare, HG Care, the timer and both the patient's and doctor's books from you. I read both books very carefully as suggested by many other WTS sufferers. I met with one of the doctors on your list and received the time release liothyronine [T3] last week. I started taking it a week ago Saturday. Each day my temperature increased .1 of a degree. By Wednesday it was up to 98.6!! I called my sister yesterday and said, "Guess what? For the first time in as long as I can remember, I did not have to wear socks to bed because of my cold feet!" My energy level is up -- but I have a tendency to overdo it because I feel so much better, and then I am a bit tired the next day. I am sleeping much, much better. It has been cold ... for the past few days--but I do not feel the need to bundle up like I did before. I do not always remember to take the ThyroCare and HG Care consistently, but with the timer I bought from you, I am able to take the Liothryronine on schedule and I am pretty good about taking my temperature--I am always so excited to see if it is continuing to go up and stay up. I thought it might take a long time to get my temperature back up to normal as I realize that I have suffered with this syndrome for many, many years (I always thought there was something wrong with my thermometers)--after particularly stressful times I would feel extremely tired, go to doctors who would check my thyroid, declare it normal, and give me anti-depressants (this happened again just a few weeks ago!). I also lived for over 30 years with an extremely critical, verbally abusive husband and I am of Irish and northern German descent. I was also told after having a colonoscopy, that I had an extra long colon. I wonder if this is not another way of those of us of northern European descent to get through times of famine. So, needless to say, I did not expect this to work so quickly. I am thrilled. I am going to start cycling down today to see if this keeps up. My sister has the same problem--I hope she will be encouraged to follow the protocol. Wish me luck. I thank God for the internet--how would I have ever known about WTS without your website--certainly none of the many doctors I have gone to have ever heard of this and I know lots of women who have low body temperatures. Keep up the good work! Diana W.

I have been battling for months with different doctors to get a proper diagnosis. They just didn't think there was anything wrong with me because the tests were normal. It didn't seem to matter to them that I had no energy, could barely move and was in the process of losing all my hair. If I hadn't wandered into a compound chemist and found someone who actually knew about Wilson's Temperature Syndrome and put me onto a doctor who could help me I would be in dire straits. My temperature was hovering around 34.5C and I was cold all the time.I had to take long service leave just to cope with getting through winter. I have been on thyroid hormones now for about six weeks and feel totally different. I have energy again, an appetite for the first time in years and I'm warm. My hair is beginning to grow back without having to resort to steroid and cortisone treatment as my dermatologist had suggested. I still can't believe I was told by four specialists that it couldn't possibly be a thyroid problem, even when I'd told them that I had low temperatures. I learned a lot from your website (the compound chemist recommended it--he recognised the symptoms straight away) and it kept me searching for answers. Roslyn

I have low body temps and some of the symptoms such as depression, insomnia, dry eyes [which is the biggest symptom], and I have high cholesterol and osteoporosis. Someplace I seem to have heard that with osteoporosis taking thyroid meds could cause bone loss. This is the only thing keeping me from seeing one of the Doctors you have listed. Di, Roselle, IL

Hi Di, You can click here to go to Question 17 of the Doctor's Manual. There you will find more information about osteoporosis and thyroid medicines. I hope you find it helpful, Denis Wilson, MD

What is the name of the product that is sold that will help improve the low temp... and what is in it and how much does it cost? Tom

Dear Tom, You may be thinking of ThyroCare, or Thyroid Px. You can see their ingredients and cost by following the above links. Or, you may be thinking of the WT3 protocol. T3 is the name of the hormone, but the compounded T3 doesn't have a trade name per se because it is not manufactured by a drug company. Some people call it "Sustained Release T3" because it is T3 compounded with a sustained release agent by pharmacists such as Medaus Pharmacy. You can call them for pricing and more information. They accept insurance from over 200 insurance companies. You can ask your doctor to call in a prescription for you and they can quickly and easily ship the T3 to you. Best wishes, Denis Wilson, MD

Has the name Wilson's Thyroid Syndrome or Wilson's Temperature Syndrome been originated by Dr. Denis Wilson? Or who has been the Dr. who originated the Wilson's Thyroid Syndrome? Best regards, Elisabeth

Yes Elisabeth, I identified Wilson's Temperature Syndrome (formerly Wilson's Thyroid Syndrome). Hope that helps, Denis Wilson, MD

How do you tell the difference between Wilson's Temperature Syndrome and hypothyroidism?
| |
| |
Good question :-) The symptoms of hypothyroidism and WTS are the same. I believe that the symptoms of hypothyroidism and the symptoms of WTS are both due to low body temperatures. The difference is that in untreated hypothyroidism the body temperatures are low and the thyroid blood tests indicate low thyroid hormone from the thyroid gland. But in WTS, the body temperatures are low even though the blood tests are normal. Further, in treated hypothyroidism the body temperatures can remain low even though the thyroid blood tests have been normalized with thyroid medicine and the patients can still have symptoms. Therefore, patients can have hypothyroidism and WTS at the same time because they have low body temperatures and symptoms and thyroid tests that show no shortage of thyroid hormone. As soon as hypothyroid patients' thryoid blood tests are normalized and they are still complaining of symptoms or hypothyoidism then WTS can be suspected and the patients may respond well to the WT3 protocol. Warmly, Denis Wilson, MD
