...I am taking the supplements, and they are working. I feel much better, and by that I mean less tired. But what I have noticed the most is that I am not as depressed as I was. The days seem brighter and I definitely have more energy. Thank you so much for your wonderful website and all the information you provide and most of all the SUPPLEMENTS. THEY ARE MAKING A BIG DIFFERENCE IN MY LIFE. I even had the energy to go to a baseball game and stay up til 11pm. That is the first since about 2 years. THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!!!!!! ++

I am grateful for the availability of compounded T3 as a form of thyroid replacement and for the research done by Dr. Wilson. I suffered from an undiagnosed illness for 30 years which was finally diagnosed as Chronic Lyme Disease. In the late stages of my illness I developed thyroid autoimmune issues and had a total thyroidectomy. I was unable to tolerate thyroid replacement in the form of T4 and did only marginally well on Armour. The closer my TSH appoached normal, the more my symptoms of hypothyroidism (low body temperature, constipation and light headedness) increased. I probably had Wilson's Temperature Syndrome for many years caused by the stress on my endocrine system from Lyme, however my symptoms were much more pronounced after being placed on thyroid replacement that contained T4 after my thryoidectomy. Fortunately I heard about WTS from a friend and sucessfully tolerated T3 as a form of thyroid replacement. I was able to maintain a normal body temperature at 97.5 mcg. twice a day. I was not however able to decrease this dose until after I was diagnosed with Lyme disease and begain a wholistic treatment of the disease which includes antimicrocial herbs, chlelation of heavy metals and other modalities to strengthen my immune system. Over the past year of treating the Lyme I gradually needed to decrease my dose of T3. I now take 60 mcg. twice a day and am still improving. I am a patient of Dr. Nazanin Kimiai and Dr. Dietrich Klinghardt at the Comprehensive Medical Clinic in Bellevue, Washington where they have extensive experience treating patients with Lyme disease. Many of their patients with Lyme respond favorably to T3 therapy because Lyme affects liver function and/or they may suffer from WTS because of the years of stress on them from the disease. An interesting point is that as a person with no thyroid, T3 works beautifully as a total form of thyroid replacement. Another important note is that I was diagnosed with adrenal fatigue for many years as a possible cause of my symptoms but did not respond sucessfully to the many therapies I tried. Once I started taking adequate amounts of T3, my adrenal function returned to normal. In conclusion, my particular experience shows the following things: 1) T3 therapy is beneficial for Lyme patients; 2) T3 alone can be used as a form of thyroid replacement; and 3) T3 therapy can resolve adrenal fatigue.

I am blessed with many allergies, so I started off very slowly with ThyroCare: one capsule daily for the first 2 weeks. I did not notice any allergic or other type response, so I moved into phase 2: three caps daily.

The first thing I noticed is feeling cheerful. Since I also have chronic clinical depression (for which I no longer take meds due to intolerable side effects) cheerful is something I am usually NOT. If I miss a day of ThyroCare, I'm not cheerful, it's as simple as that! And that is amazing!! ++

Thanks!

Question & Answers

First let me thank you for the tremendous difference your discoveries have been in my life. I attribute all of my medical progress to you and your discovery of WT3 which I've been on for over a year, and it has totally changed my life. My question concerns Cholesterol Care. Someone in the newsletter mentioned it helped his/her cholesterol levels. Do you know what this is? Need a prescription? Over the counter? Do you recommend it? Know where one can get it over the counter?

Thanks,

Can this therapy positively affect fertility? I am 43, with 2 children ages 12 and 14. My husband and I want very much to have one more child. We tried all of 2004 without success. Finally in 2/2005 I conceived, but miscarried at 7 weeks. We are trying again, now with Clomid. My doctor did blood tests for all hormone levels, which she said were within normal ranges; this includes thyroid levels. I have many (most) of the symptoms listed on your website. The most compelling for me is hair loss, which started about 2 years ago. I never shed noticibly before that. Could WTS be a cause for my infertility? Could treatment help?

Thank you,
Michelle

Dear Michelle,

Low thyroid system has long been known to contribute to infertility. In fact, one of the first things to be ruled out in infertility is hypothyroidism. Low thyroid function is more than enough to explain infertility.

Patients with low thyroid function have low temperatures but patients can have low temperatures and symptoms even though their tests are normal.

For years, some Gynecologists have been giving T3 to some of their infertile patients even though their tests were perfectly normal, with good results.

I know that many patients have conceived on WT3 Therapy when they were having trouble before. I remember running into one of my patients that I hadn't seen in a number of years. She said, "I want to introduce you to someone." It was the daughter that she was certain she was able to conceive because of the WT3 Therapy. When I was treating her she became pregnant and after a time weaned off the treatment. She was able to maintain her preganancy and was delivered by her obstetrician.

This brings up an important point. What happens when patients do conceive on the WT3? What then? do they wean off or stay on? Different doctors will have different opinions on this point. Some doctors feel perfectly comfortable leaving patients on T3 throughout the pregnancy whereas other doctors might feel it best to wean off the treatment. Another reasonable approach might be to allow patients to remain on the WT3 Therapy for the first trimester to allow the pregnancy to get well established and then perhaps slowly weaning off the WT3 Therapy.

As you know, any choice or decision with regard to a pregnancy is an extremely important one and should be discussed and decided between patients and their doctors.

Patients with low body temperatures and low thyroid symtpoms may benefit from ThyroCare and/or WT3 Therapy for WTS and may be able to conceive when all else has failed.

Hope that helps,
Denis Wilson, MD

I am new to this web site, but have not seen anyone with dizziness as a symptom. It could also be called a "brain fog". Ever hear of this?

Deb B.

Absolutely Deb,

Brain fog is a common symptom of low body temperatures. Brain fog is a commonly reported symptom of Fibromyalgia and is commonly called Fibro fog. Patients diagnosed with Fibromyalgia often respond extremely well to normalization of body temperature patterns. You can click here for one example.
