I have been taking ThyroCare, Adaptogen, Healthy Foundation and DB Care for the past 8 months. I have been able to stop the T3 and maintain my temperature at 98.6 which I couldn't do before. This past month my doctor put me on Adrenal Px LoBP (he felt I needed a little more adrenal support). I have noticed improvement these past 8 months....I won't ever be without the ThyroCare, Adaptogen, Healthy Foundation, and DB Care....I am forever thankful...

Sincerely and thank you,
Andrea Z.

I personally had Wilson's Syndrome, and the very successful treatment of it really brought me back to life. I felt it saved my life. Although I'm sure I was not going to literally die, the emotional and mental effects it had on me certainly made me feel like my life was over. No interest, no energy - a generally apathy. For me, this was devastating as my life is very active and purposeful - full of dedication.

I have since told many people about Wilson's Syndrome, and sent them to my doctor (who told me about it, diagnosed and treated it) and they too have found new life.

I am passionate on the subject...

Sincerely,
Gloria

I continue to find ThyroCare, Adaptagen and now Healthy Foundation to be beneficial. I have experimented with different doses but decided that one 3x's a day of the two capsules is the best. Wish there was a Dr. who did WT3 nearby though, but praising God for the increase in energy and decrease in brainfog with the supplements.

I am an RN. My acne cleared up after using the T3. I had tried antibiotics
(local and systemic), but nothing had helped until now!

Question & Answers

Do you have anything that would help me explain the T3 treatment to my insurance company? They won't pay for more than one prescription number per month. Because I have different strengths of T3 compounded for me (and each has a different prescription number given to it by the pharmacy), my insurance company won't reimburse me for more than one strength. Please help, I can't be the only one to be facing this challenge. Thank you!

You can click here to see the online version of the Patient Orientation Sheet. Perhaps if your Insurance company looked at this sheet they could see that the protocol calls for more than just one strength. You can also call Medaus Pharmacy at 800-526-9183. They accept insurance on the T3 from over 200 companies and are experts at interacting with insurance companies.

Hope that helps,

I have been taking T3 for 2 months and I am returning to the person I used to be like. I'm peaceful, energetic, thinking a lot clearer and can't imagine I was on the edge of depression. Even my hands and feet are no longer broken out. My question is how long does it take to see hair and weight loss changes? My hair has broken off considerably to the point I need to cut it to even it out. I've gone from 12-14 inch long strands to 2-3 inches. My weight gain was 23 lbs in just a few months. I have stopped gaining but I haven't started losing either. Any suggestions?

Thank you.

Patients will often gain weight more easily at the same time they are beginning to experience other symptoms of low body temperatures. It is reasonable to expect, therefore, that the weight will go away the same time the other symptoms respond to treatment. However, that is not always the case. Sometimes patients get many symptoms and gain weight when their temperatures drop, and the weight doesn't come off automatically even though their other symptoms resolve with normalization of body temperature patterns. I believe that part of the explanation for this has to do with patients' surface area/volume ratios of their bodies, which is discussed beginning in the 19th paragraph of this section of the ebook. I believe that gaining weight alone can often make losing weight more difficult. Nevertheless, I think the fact that you have stopped gaining is a good sign, and if you can start losing weight with diet and exercise (even though you didn't need to diet and exercise to maintain your weight when you weighed 23 pounds less) you have a good chance of getting back down to your normal weight. The T3 therapy will hopefully protect your system from slowing down while you diet. The more you lose while on the T3, hopefully, the easier it will be for you to continue to lose and/or maintain your weight when you are finished losing.

Hair can sometimes be somewhat unforgiving. You have mentioned that some of your symptoms have improved with treatment. You have probably noticed that the symptoms improve more or less depending on how the treatment is going. In other words, when the treatment is not going as well the symptoms can begin to return or be less improved. If fatigue comes and goes it's not too bad because today you're tired but tomorrow you might feel energetic again. But if brittleness of hair comes back today and some of your hair breaks off it will be a while before that hair grows out again even if your hair is not brittle tomorrow.

For that reason, sometimes hair symptoms don't settle down until the T3 levels and temperatures settle down, and sometimes that does not occur until the patients' temperatures have been normalized and the patients have been weaned off the treatment and their bodies are steadily maintaining their temperatures on their own.

In the meantime, patients who want to maximize their chances of controlling their hair symptoms while ON the WT3 therapy (patients often do have great success with their hair symptoms while on the treatment, but not all do) can do whatever they can to keep their T3 levels steady (including taking the T3 exactly on time according to protocol and perhaps using T4-test doses as indicated --see Chapter 10 of Doctor's Manual). Nevertheless, some patients can still have trouble with their hair even if they are taking the T3 perfectly well and doing everything right because of the inherent tendency of the WT3 protocol toward T3 unsteadiness.

Warmly,
Denis Wilson, MD

Can I get T3 from my family doctor, or does one have to see a naturopath?

Yes you can get T3 from your family doctor. You can click here for pharmacies your doctor can use to get the T3. I would guess that the majority of doctors that are prescribing the T3 are not naturopaths.

Best wishes,
Denis Wilson, MD
