Success Stories

In 1999, I was diagnosed with Hashimoto's disorder. I began taking Synthroid, later with Cytomel as well. Although symptoms lessened, and tests showed "normal," I continued to feel chronically exhausted, and stopped all medication this past April.

Within a few weeks, I could feel symptoms worsening. Since my temp hovered around 93.5 most of the time, and I felt like "death warmed over," I began the T-3 protocol shortly thereafter.

With a supportive PA and armed with the Doctor's Manual, I have completed 3 rounds of the T-3 procedure, and am now stable with a dosage at 37.5 mcg.

...my energy has returned, my temp is stable in the 98.6 zone, and I think, quite literally, Wilson's Protocol may have saved as well as extended my life.

Many thanks and good wishes!

Started the WT3 two weeks ago. I went up one 7.5 dose up every day. Got to 37.5 and stabilized. The main improvement I notice is my sense of direction is returning and I am no longer afraid to drive or be out in public. I have a little more energy and am warm. Great stuff! I can't wait to see how I do off of it.

Hello Once Again,

I wanted to give you some feedback on the WT3 treatment and if at all possible ask for some advice.

I have, for the first time in years and years and years, have been feeling absolutely FANTASTIC. Gone were the days of feeling "drugged" and so sleepy that I would just struggle from hour to hour to stay awake. I haven't lost weight, but the energy level had provided me with the opportunity to re-commence exercise.

I have only had two episodes of being on the T3 treatment - first period for a couple of weeks and the second for around 4 weeks. Both times, reaching the maximum 90 mcg dosage. The first time (you may recall) I was really itchy and my GP reduced the treatment.

I have been off T3 for around 3 weeks and feeling great. However, from mid-day yesterday I seem to have had a major and quite a quick relapse (spending most of today in bed) - fatigued and bloated. Is this common? This has simply reinforced how well I was feeling. How many times does T3 need to be administered (the aussie $ is low it is costing me my full week's pay to supplement a few weeks treatment) before the changes are deemed to be permanent?

Thank you for your help.
Kind Regards, Angie

Dear Angie,

Not everyone can get well and stay well for 3 weeks after only a couple of short cycles on the WT3 protocol. Quick responses are generally very good signs that patients will be able to soon recover and stay well off treatment, barring any unusual stresses or circumstances in their lives.

WTS is often brought on by stress and the same kinds of stressors that can encourage the onset of WTS can encourage a relapse.

Underlying medical problems, such as a chronic infection or exposures to toxins, can stress people's health and thereby predispose them to WTS.

Sometimes, people experience unrelated illnesses while on T3, such as a flu.

Some patients with stories similar to yours might get better and remain better on the next cycle.

Hope that helps,
Denis Wilson, MD

Question & Answers

How long can one stay on T3? I've been through several stressful situations (job loss, death of a sibling, loss of a pet) in the past eight months and have cycled on and off of the protocol two times, stabilizing at 60 mcg bid. Is it possible to stay on the 60 dose for an extended period time (months vs weeks), given the stress level I am experiencing at this time?

I have had patients on T3 therapy for over 2 years at a time who appeared to do well. And there have been other patients who have seemed to do well on T3 for many years. Nevertheless, like all medical treatments T3 is not completely without risk and should be managed on an individual case basis considering the parameters involved.

Warmly,
Denis Wilson, MD

After reading about Wilson's Temperature Syndrome recently, I am very excited to find out whether a low body temperature has been the cause of the debilitating symptoms I have been suffering. Previously the diagnosis I have been given was: ''your thyroid has nodules and is operating independently of your pituitary gland and is 'hypo' but doesn't require medication yet'',''you have adrenal fatigue'' and ''your symptoms indicate that you are perimenopausal''. Nothing I have been given to date has relieved any of the symptoms -is it possible to have all of these conditions and WTS? Are they all related?

Yes, the glands of the endocrine system are quite inter-related in their function. And yes, it is possible to have the conditions you mentioned and still have a low temperature that might respond well to the treatment for WTS. You see, WTS tends to come on with stress. The stress can be physical, like the stress on the body that might be brought on due to the conditions you mentioned, or it can be emotional such as due to job or family problems. Sometimes, recalibrating one area of the endocrine system can have a beneficial effect on other parts of the system as well.

Best wishes,
Denis Wilson, MD

Can you take ThyroCare if you want to keep your thyroid healthy?

Absolutely. ThyroCare is excellent support for the thyroid gland and can be taken every day like a healthy habit.

Sincerely,
Denis Wilson, MD

After checking with one's doctor, where does one purchase the WT3? And what is the schedule for taking the WT3, and for what period of time? In what form does one take the WT3?

Thank you.

Your doctor can prescribe the T3 for you through a compounding pharmacist. We recommend Medaus Pharmacy in Alabama. They have skill, experience, equipment, and they accept insurance from over 200 companies.

This Patient Orientation Sheet can give you a general idea of how the protocol is typically started in new patients, but the entire protocol is described in full detail in the online Doctor's Manual. Medaus compounds the T3 in the recommended capsule form.

Best wishes,
Denis Wilson, MD
