The ThyroCare is working well so far. I just cut back to 1 daily to see if I can sustain my temperature at around 98.6. I was also on and off of WT3 therapy several times over a 2+ month period but every time I tapered off, my temp. would fall, albeit not as far as previously. I took a beta blocker for palpitations. Now that my body temp. is staying around 98.6 I have stopped taking the beta blockers, its been over a month now with no problems. I also have more energy and my hair finally stopped falling out. Thank God for your therapy and your list of doctors, my physician wouldn't even consider WT3 therapy. I found a very nice, kind doctor in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to prescribe the therapy. Sincerely, Kathi

Since taking the ThyroCare I have also lost 5 pounds, and pants are loose, which is great. I have tried to lose weight every other way and this time I didn't even try. I have been taking Synthroid/Thyroxine for 15 years with not much success in my opinion. Blood levels are always within the range so increasing dosage is very difficult to convince. I changed doctors and was able to convince him in trying a lilttle higher dosage for 3 months and when my blood levels went up he dropped me back down, just when I was starting to feel better. I have not talked to him about taking WTSmed supplements yet but have finished my 1st bottle of ThyroCare a week ago. I have really felt a big difference, so really want to try another couple of months. I had read that since it took so long to run your thyroid down that it takes time to heal and to give it a few months. I am extremely hopeful. Reading others' symptoms and lack of cooperation from doctors has made me feel not so alone after all. Thank you for bringing this to the attention of doctors and patients alike. My next step is convincing my doctor to try the WT3 therapy. Wish me luck! Kathi

Thank you SO much for your work... I have been taking the WTSmed supplements and definitely notice a difference when I miss or forget to take them. Again, thanks for all you do. When I forget my WTS medicines I quickly remember how awful I felt before I discovered them. After I've taken them for 6 months or so I may look into WT3 therapy. Thanks & God Bless You! Doris

I had my left upper lobe of my lung removed in July for a small cancer and sixty percent of my thyroid in September for nodules which were not malignant. No lymph node involvement either time. I now see a naturopath. I do not eat sugar, white flour, red meat, fruit, dairy, eggs. I am limited on vegetable--I have been 100% perfect and I am still tired. I had a normal thyroid blood test five weeks post op however my temperatures are low usually 97 or lower. I believe I am more tired since my second surgery than I was after my lung removal. Is there any danger in taking this medicine because my MD thinks that I have this syndrome, and I think I do now that I have read about it on you web page. He is concerned because I had the thyroid nodules and he said this medicine can cause nodules. This cancer was picked up by a routine chest x-ray I was not having any symptoms. Marjorie H.

I have never heard of T3 causing thyroid nodules. T3 is a thyroid hormone and is not completely without risk. However, it also provides many with a great deal of benefit. I can easily see how some cancer survivors might greatly benefit from T3 and /or ThyroCare. You know better than I that being diagnosed and treated for cancer, twice, can be very stressful on the body both physically and emotionally. This would be more than enough reason for some people to suffer persistently low temperatures. The prospect of suffering the effects of low temperatures for years is also unpleasant and the chances of thyroid nodules from T3 I would think are remote. In fact, thyroid medicine is often given to patients with the belief that it will suppress nodule formation (though studies in that matter are inconclusive). Warmly, Denis Wilson, MD

Does an underactive thyroid cause shakiness inside, sometimes outside as well? Can it also cause excessive hair loss?

Yes, Underactive thyroid can lead to hypoglycemia, low blood pressure, and compensatory secretion of adrenaline, that can contribute to shakiness inside and out. Yes, it can also cause excessive hair loss. Best wishes, Denis Wilson, MD

Does the T3 need to be kept refrigerated? The ones I purchased from a local compounding pharmacy stated on the bottle to keep refrigerated, the ones I ordered from Medaus Pharmacy does not state that and it travels via US mail across the country to arrive at my home in CA. Also, is there a difference in the formula of T3 purchased from Medaus and a compounding pharmacy locally? Vickie California

Dear Vickie, Pharmacists compound T3 by adding pure T3 powder with fillers and sustained release agents into capsules. The molecular structure of the T3 is likely the same. However, different pharmacies compound the T3 differently and may use different binders and fillers. The capsules from Medaus Pharmacy (800-526-9183) do not need to be refrigerated. Many patients have noticed an improvement in their results when they switched from their pharmacies to Medaus. When people aren't doing as well on the T3 as they had hoped, they can switch pharmacies to see if there is an improvement. Cheers, Denis Wilson, MD
