I have been on Thyrocare since March this year, and am really pleased to say that I have much more energy. I was diagnosed with ME in 1990 and for the next 10 years life was a nightmare, with no help or understanding from the medical profession. In 1998 I was diagnosed with Hashimoto's Disease as I have a goitre, but was told that I needed annual blood tests to monitor the situation. My energy levels were really low, but the blood tests showed a 'normal' reading for my thyroid. I was so very unwell earlier this year that a friend recommended a clinic who might be able to help me. At this point I was having to lie down most of the time, my palour was ashen and life was intolerable. After taking Thyrocare for about 4 - 6 weeks my energy levels improved considerably... Thank you for helping me get some of my life back! Regards, Anne Edwards, UK

[With ThyroCare and Healthy Foundation] I'm not as cranky when the usual PMS time hits. I've got a little more energy during the time of day that I'm usually ready for a nap. All-in-all, it's helped me to feel better so I'm not so grouchy. My feet and hands are getting warmer, which my husband is thankful for since I usually use his legs to warm my frozen toes. Thank you, Gina

I saw your comment on the PVC's that you haven't heard much from your patients on this. I developed it when I got sick and even went through some testing for it. I got a stethoscope and listened to figure out what was happening. My heart would pause and then thump really hard. The doctor took me off the monitor before he saw what was going on. When I went on T3 this problem went away. The first time I was on T3 I stayed on for a year. Then I was off for a year until I noticed my symptoms returning. My heart skipped beats, my temperature wouldn't regulate, I was irritable, my sleep was broken and extreme fatigue. The PVC was what finally clued me in that I had Wilson's Syndrome again. I need to stay on T3 daily, or my symptoms return fairly quickly. I believe many don't realize that the PVC [can be] linked to Wilson's. Mine definitely is. I have been on T3 now for 2 years total, and I can't function well without it. I see so many who have the symptoms, and I send them your link, but only a few ever pursue it. It amazes me. I guess they just haven't got bad enough yet. The ones who have got on T3 have seen wonderful results. One even cancelled her surgery because her symptoms went away. Gayle D.

I was recently told by a "holistic" practitioner that most patients on thyroid medication of any kind should also be supplementing with iodine. What is your view on this? Sandra

I believe the practitioner is making the point that iodine sufficiency is important to thyroid system function, and I certainly agree that it is. However, I don't believe s/he was making the point that thyroid medicine makes people iodine deficient, which I don't believe it does. Many people are iodine deficient and iodine supplementation alone is enough to help some people recover. Both ThyroCare and Thyroid Px contain iodine, which is a very important nutrient in thyroid health. I do believe that there are some people that are not deficient in iodine, and therefore don't need iodine supplementation right away, that still might benefit from thyroid hormone treatment. So I agree that not all people on thyroid medicine need to be on iodine. I do agree that iodine deficiency is very common, especially in people with low thyroid symptoms (possibly due to iodine deficiency). Warmly, Denis Wilson, MD

I have the low HPA [Hypothalamic-Pituitary-Adrenal] function that goes with Chronic Fatigue -- which I definitely have. My standard T4 thyroid test is normal, although taking the synthetic hormone definitely makes me feel better. I have a feeling I have low T3 and am about to test my temp for it. How does this figure with the low HPA? Thanks! -- Jo T.

Dear Jo, Thyroid and Adrenal issues very much go hand in hand since the thyroid and adrenal systems affect one another. Thyroid function is often low in patients with low adrenal system function. Sometimes it is important to support the adrenal system while nourishing the thyroid system. Adaptogen, Adrenal Px Balance, Adrenal Px DHEA, and Adrenal Px LoBP are all excellent supplements for supporting the adrenal system. ThyroCare, and Thyroid Px are excellent support for the thyroid system. However, some patients may benefit from the WT3 protocol as well. Cheers, Denis Wilson, MD

Do you have any medicine to shrink thyroid nodules and enlarged thyroid? I had an enlarged thyroid a while ago. It went away, but I was told during my most recent pregnancy (about a year ago) that I have them again.

When a bone is broken, it makes sense to put it to rest with a cast and to nourish the body as well as possible so it can heal. In a similar way, some people have reported a reduction in their thyroid nodules when they put their thyroid systems to rest with T3 therapy (as in the WT3 protocol), combined with nourishing their thyroid systems with ThyroCare and/or Thyroid PX. Hope that helps, Denis Wilson, MD
