I have been reading both manuals and recording my temp, my sons' and as frequently as I can my husbands'. We all average in the 97.4-97.9 range. I sent your CD to the NP I usually see. He feels this is out of his scope of practice. As I try to handle my health naturally, I don't have another doctor at this time. I decided to try the herbal supplements and try to manage this myself. I started them Nov 7, the day they arrived--Thyrocare, Adaptogen and Healthy Foundation. Sunday the 11th, my temp was 98.2 and 98.4 and 98.6. I have felt fairly good today. I felt great on Sunday! Basically before I started the supplements, I had to force myself to get going in the morning. I have been literally forcing myself through a day. I know I should have more energy than I do. So with just 7 days of supplements, I have more energy! I feel less aches. I feel I am losing some fluid retention also. A lot of my clients have the criteria. I have been an LPN for 22 years, an EMT for 12 years, and a Massage Therapist for 6 years. I have always researched natural healing, and am very health conscious. This only makes sense. It just seems wrong that such a simple treatment is not accepted widely by Physicians. Keep up the good work! Joy in North Dakota

I have been ill for so long - 6 years maybe, and everything I ate made me feel sick in every way - joint pain, headaches, nausea, depression, tingling pins and needles, crying fits, feeling absolutely freezing - unable to heat up, low blood sugar, asthma, extreme anxiety, waking nightmares when I closed my eyes at night. The only time I felt ok was WHEN I DIDN'T EAT. I could only drink water - as a result I LOST A LOT OF WEIGHT - and the docs were telling me it was all psychological. My temp fluctuated between 96 at the highest and went as low as 92 on a regular basis. As you can imagine, I felt absolutely awful and was living on celery, zucchini, iceberg lettuce, and chicken. Thankfully, I decided to try the 3 WTS herbals (ThyroCare, Adaptogen, and Healthy Foundation). Within a week I was able to eat more, and now about 6 weeks later I have put on weight--don't feel cold or have any other symptoms. THANK YOU SO, SO MUCH. I FELT LIKE THE WALKING DEAD. I AM ALIVE AGAIN. THANK YOU. Love and Light, Stephanie B.

I have been on and off the T3 for several years now. I have been working with Dr. Karl Peterson in Gig Harbor, Washington, and he has been wonderful. I have referred many people to him, but only a few have really pursued this. The few that have are feeling so much better. I can look at people in a crowd and almost pick out those who may have this. They never smile unless it is forced. You can tell that they don't feel good. I asked one lady why her ankle was wrapped and she said the doctors have no answers. I asked her what her other symptoms were. I then asked her what her body temp was. She had been to so many doctors and was told there was nothing wrong. I told her, I know what could be wrong with you. She went to a Naturopath and was told she might have Wilson's Temperature Syndrome. She is awaiting her blood test results. I am almost positive she has it. Another friend of mine is on T3, and about 90% of her symptoms are gone. She was going to have surgery and no longer needs it. She no longer has excruciatingly cold feet and hands. It has been amazing to see her change. I truly believe this disease is rampant in society. I am currently on the T3, because whenever I wean off of it I slowly start having my symptoms return. I have a shorter fuse, my heart starts skipping a beat, I can't focus as much, my tolerance for hot and cold will fluctuate by the minute, I have insomnia, etc. There was a time I didn't know if I was going to make it. I had severe anemia, dehydration, my colitis was very severe and I had a million other symptoms. I actually asked God to heal me or take me. I didn't want to continue to live if I had to suffer so much. Today I am 85% better and I thank God every day for what Dr. Wilson has done. Thank you so much for all you do. It saved my life. Gayle D.

One person I referred to my Doctor was put on 37.5 mcg T3 and her TSH levels dropped. Her regular endocrinologist told her to wean off because her levels were critically low and barely registered at all. Can T3 cause this? What else could?

Yes, T3 can cause TSH levels to be so low that they are undetectable. In fact, some people don't recover until their TSH levels are depleted completely. In other words, for some people it is critical that their TSH levels are depleted completely in order for them to recover (in much the same way that a computer that's hung up needs to be shut down completely and rebooted in order to function properly again). There are some bad conditions that can cause critically low TSH levels (like hyperthyroidism). That's probably what the endocrinologist meant when he said they were critically low. But it should be remembered that just because low TSH levels can be caused by some unhealthy conditions, that doesn't necessarily mean that low TSH levels cause poor health. If the temperature is normal and the patient is feeling terrific, it might be perfectly fine for the TSH to be zero for a time. Hope that helps, Denis Wilson, MD

How can you tell if you should wean yourself off of T3, or will you be on it permanently? Sandra

Dear Sandra, No one needs to be on T3 permanently to survive. Most don't need to be on T3 permanently to thrive either. Sometimes patients' temperatures slip and their symptoms begin to return as they wean off T3. This can often be prevented with the use of herbal support such as ThyroCare or Thyroid Px. Sometimes severe stress, or unaddressed, underlying problems can also account for not being able to wean easily off T3. Normally, patients are afraid to wean off T3 for fear of their old symptoms coming back. But over time, patients frequently gain more confidence about weaning. It's almost as if they begin to forget what it feels like to be sick, and they are no longer afraid of feeling that way. This confidence, coupled with the desire to stop taking medicine every 12 hours according to a timer, and the desire to stop spending money on T3, usually provides the motivation for people to want to try weaning off the T3. T3 can be taken for months and even years without problems. When to wean is often a matter of preference. Warmly, Denis Wilson, MD

In June I had an elevated TSH and TPO, and decreased T3 and T4, as well as, a WBC 1.6, decreased estrogen, testosterone, and progesterone levels. I was diagnosed with Hashimotos Thyroiditis disease. All labs are now normal except for the T4, which is still subtherapeutic. My body Temp is 97.8 I have read your book and was wondering whether your protocol could be of benefit to me. Is there much success with taking T3 with a very low hypothyroid? Thank you Deborah, RN

 |
| |
Absolutely. The protocol is very often helpful to people who remain with low temperatures regardless of their thyroid history. Many people with Hashimoto's fare very well on the WT3 protocol, experiencing a drop in their TPO antibodies. The protocol can be thought of as supporting the ailing thyroid system the way a cast supports a broken arm. It's also a great time to nourish the thyroid system with thyroid herbs when the thyroid system is supported with the WT3 protocol. Happy Holidays, Denis Wilson, MD
