I am so thankful for finding out about Wilson's Temperature Syndrome. I have been battling doctors my whole life. I think I was born hypothyroid. I had asthma from birth. I was allergic to most foods and formula. All of my childhood diseases were severe. I had the mumps for 5 months in every gland in my body. I missed the whole third grade because of it. I finally found out about you. For many years my blood pressure has been high, lately, severely high. When they gave me medication it went higher. I thought I was going to have a stroke. I quit taking the medication. When I got on the program, after one 7.5 mcg T-3 capsule, My blood pressure went to normal and has stayed normal ever since!!! Out of the list of symptoms I had 42. And now I am down to only 14 symptoms. I feel so much better now. I am down to 7.5 mcg's begining tomorrow morning and soon will be off the medication. But you can be assured that I will keep a close eye on my temp. If it starts going down I will be back. Thank you so much for being here for us.

I do believe the FibroCare combined with the ThyroCare have helped. My muscle and body aches do seem to be better. I do have the timer and I think it is a good idea to use it for my supplements, too. Thanks for the tip. Don't know why I didn't think of it.

THANK YOU for all you've done. You stuck your neck out for all of us, and your work is helping many people. I cannot tell you how happy I am to have energy and feel hopeful again. I had become the nap queen, unable to find the energy to do what I needed to do. I was irritable with my children, and hated waking up in the morning. I was cold to the point of having blueish fingernails and toenails, and had adult acne. My GP was willing to read the manual and listen to the CD, and worked with me, bless his heart.

Question & Answers

My T3 and T4 levels stay low even with 2 grains of Armour thyroid. I keep a low grade temperature and keep getting colds and fever blisters, and I don't sleep well. Is this due to the thyroid problem? Can you use the Thyrocare along with the Armour thyroid medication?

When you say low grade temperature, I assume you mean your temperature is running a little bit above normal. A low grade fever is usually indicative of an acute or chronic infection.

It's true that low thyroid function can reduce body temperatures, leaving people susceptible to infections with those infections leading to fevers. Sometimes it's hard to tell the status of your thyroid system until the fever is resolved by finding and treating the underlying infection.

And yes, ThyroCare can be used along with thyroid medication. In fact, some doctors have treated patients with T3 to raise their temperatures (even though they already had low grade fevers) to help them mount higher fevers, which seemed to help them overcome their infections better. So nutritional support of the thyroid system might be helpful in some cases as well.

Hope that helps,

Is it possible to determine serum levels of T3, like we do with T4? Thank you!

Yes it is.
However, some people with high T3 levels can still have low body temperatures and symptoms that respond well to normalization with T3 therapy and / or herbal support.

Best wishes,

My doctor is offering to call in either a 12 hour T3 to the local compounding pharmacist, or a 24 hour T3. In reading the Doctor's Manual, I don't see anything mentioned about a 24 hour T3. Why not? Wouldn't it be easier to go this route? I'm guessing there is a reason, but what is it?

It's important for the T3 levels in the body to be steady, to maximize benefit and minimize the chance of side effects. Therefore, it's ideal for the T3 medicine taken by mouth to be delivered smoothly over time to the blood stream. That would depend on how smoothly the T3 is delivered over time by the medicine and how well the body absorbs it smoothly.

For one, I'm not sure that T3 medicine can be compounded by a pharmacist to release smoothly over 24 hours. Would studies show that 90% of it be delivered in the first 11 hours? But I do have experience with the 12 hour version and it seems to work very well.

Also, certain circumstances, like diarrhea, might make the transit time of the gut quite a bit less than 24 hours. In that case, not all of the T3 would be delivered.

That being said, some people that have been on T3 for a while are able to tolerate taking the 12 hour variety every 24 hours and tolerate it fine. In fact, some people can even tolerate taking instant release T3 every 24 hours.

What kind of T3 medicine to use can be made on a case by case basis. However, I feel that steady T3 levels can be most likely achieved with today's technology with people taking 12 hour T3 every 12 hours.

Happy Holidays ahead,
Denis Wilson, MD
