I purchased ThyroCare since my doctor is hours and hours away and doesn't know about you yet. I take one capsule with my early a.m. thyroid. I take a second capsule with the other half of my daily thyroid at noon. After a week or so I added a third ThyroCare cap in late afternoon. Within a day or so of taking the ThyroCare my temperature went up from my prior average of 97.7 to normal by mid afternoon. I also am making an effort to stay warm. My energy level went way up, totally amazing me!!!! I used to be totally overwhelmed by about an hour of chores, but now I can do so much more and it is so much easier. I have hope!! Before I started (the WT3 protocol), I did contact my endocrinologist one last time to ask about WTS, and it was completely clear that he did not understand the treatment. So I went back to the Wilson's website where I'd already read every single page and I ordered the doctors manual, thermometer, timer, some appropriate supps, and my naturopath prescribed the T3 starter pack from the recommended pharmacy. I started the WTS treatment a couple of weeks ago. I have actually felt better than I have in the last few years! I find it is very easy to consistently take my meds on time with that great timer. Taking a few minutes every few hours to take my temp has not been arduous, I simply find a bathroom or a quiet spot no matter where I am - even in another country! Since I've not been well for quite a long time, I suspect it will take me several cycles to be completely well. I believe I will at least feel better than I have for the last few years and I am hopeful that in the end I will be symptom free and will not need to take the 4 different meds (T4, T3, and two full dosages of two separate anti-depressants) I have been taking, and that I will be symptom free. I feel thankful to have received Dr. Wilson's message because it makes so much sense. I initially hesitated because it is not accepted medical practice by most doctors, but at this point I'm willing to try something unorthodox. The treatment is very simple, the time-release medication seems very safe (compared to doses of T3 I was taking at different times of the day), the tools are easy to use (thermometer and timer) and I really like that I am in control of the process. Throughout the last few years of my illness I have felt helpless because I have been at the mercy of others, who are not motivated to help me feel well. I am encouraging all my friends and family who have symptoms and are not happy with their treatment to at least research WTS. I feel great, and feel hopeful that one day very soon the pain and suffering of the last few years will become a memory. The most important thing is that I have hope, that the possibility of feeling well is once again part of my life. Sandra

I can only say the HG Care is working exceedingly well. It's a pleasure to actually feel hungry on occasion without feeling desperate and agitated or usually both. It doesn't get rid of every problem that comes with low blood sugar problems but it does away with all the worst, and it is worth every penny. Regards, Jim

I have been on the T3 therapy for 3 months now. I am in my third weaning cycle and I can really see my temperature elevating this time around. I have not lost any weight yet during this three month period, but I have lost a few inches. My exercise of choice is walking and for a month now I have added the trampoline. I have always craved for something sweet, it's like my day is not complete unless I have something sweet. What does this mean and do you have an effective product that would suppress my desire for sweets. Connie Virginia Beach, VA

Dear Connie, Sweet cravings are often an indicator of low blood sugar or hypoglycemia. Hypoglycemia is often an indicator of unstable blood sugar levels. In other words, blood sugar levels go up when people eat sugar, but they can come down again, and when they get very low they can feel effects of hypoglycemia, such as sweet cravings. Thus, hypoglycemia is usually not a result of blood sugars being low ALL the time, but usually a result of unstable or poorly controlled blood sugar levels. Blood sugar levels are affected by what we eat and by how the body reacts to what we eat. When we eat sugar, the body responds by making insulin, which brings our blood sugar levels down by making the sugar go out of our blood stream and into our cells (often our fat cells where the sugar can be stored as fat). Poor eating habits and hormonal imbalances can lead to insulin resistance, where the body needs to secrete more insulin to reduce blood sugar levels, which can lead to more fat deposited in the cells, lower lows, greater cravings, and a vicious cycle. One of the biggest contributors to unstable sugar levels is the consuming of refined sweets (like candy, donuts, ice cream, egg nog, cereal, and so on). Did I mention cereal? Yes, it's amazing how much refined sugar is in cereals that are labeled Organic, whole grain goodness. If it's sweet in your mouth it's because a lot of sugar has been added. It's amazing how much sugar needs to be added to something to make it sweet. And the amount of sugar in soft drinks is absolutely horrifying. Do this simple experiment. Squeeze a little lemon and lime into an 8oz glass of water and then keep adding sugar until it's as sweet as a soft drink. We would never dream of sitting down with a spoon in front of a bowl of sugar and eat spoon after spoon of raw sugar and call it healthy. But people do it everyday when they have soft drinks with their meals, or most cereals for breakfast. A Solution? Stable blood sugars with fewer spikes and fewer lows. This can be accomplished with a more natural diet, that doesn't involve starving. Legumes (such as lentils, blackeyed peas, black beans, kidney beans, and others) contain a lot of protein with a balanced amount of complex carbohydrate. Most people love the taste of lentils. When prepared properly you can greatly minimize the amount of gas they produce in your digestive tract. Soak the lentils for at least 5 hours and then discard the soaking water and rinse the lentils again (this procedure washes away many of the gas producing substances). Then boil/simmer the lentils for about an hour. Then, snack on them at the first sign of hunger (don't worry about gaining weight because they have no fat). When you prevent yourself from getting very hungry by eating lentils you will prevent yourself from getting cravings and eating refined sugars. It doesn't mean you'll never have sweets again, but it will mean that you might have them once or twice a week on the weekends instead of every day, or every meal. If you like, you can add a little organic rice to make the protein more complete (rice contains some essential amino acids that legumes don't, but rice has less protein). By using the legumes to prevent yourself from getting very hungry, you can literally check out of the food rat race for days at a time. In other words, use this protein and complex carbohydrate to keep yourself from getting hungry and you will likely find that sweets will not cross your mind (the secret is to not let yourself get hungry...because when hunger comes...so do cravings for sweets and fatty foods). Don't worry too much about eating mostly lentils (and maybe some rice) or legumes. People in developing countries eat rice and beans three meals a day for years on end, and many of them are in much better shape than we are. It beats eating a lot of sugar, fat, and salt, and thinking it's normal or healthy. In addition, you may also find these supplements to be helpful: DB Care, Adaptogen, Metabolic Nutrition, StressCalm Px, ThyroCare, Glucose Balance Px, Thyroid Px. I have read your article on WTS. I find it very interesting and was wondering if a person has WTS can they develop thyroid nodules? I had thyroid nodules removed in April of this year and now they are telling me I need my thyroid gland removed. Will your WTS therapy help a person like me? Thank You, Anne Norman, Ok

Yes, people can have thyroid nodules and WTS at the same time. It's possible that the same processes that are contributing to thyroid nodules might also contribute to low body temperatures. It's also possible that low body temperatures might contribute to thyroid nodules. In any event, WT3 therapy and WTSmed Supplements can normalize body temperatures and nourish the thyroid gland. Sometimes nodules can go away on their own, so certainly they can also go away with resetting and supporting the thyroid system. Yes, many times it is easier to manage the WT3 protocol in patients that have no thyroid gland. The WT3 therapy requires the doctor and patient to take into account not only the management of the T3 therapy itself, but also the body's compensatory reaction to the T3 therapy. In patient's without thyroid glands it's easier because there is no thyroid gland compensation to consider since it's not there. Warmly, Denis Wilson, MD
