I am feeling much better. I have been on the T3 therapy for 1-1/2 months now and my temp has gone from consistently reading 97.2 to consistently reading 98.3. I am much warmer now (as I was always cold and wore 3-4 layers of clothes/sweaters). I am not as lethargic or tired and even my memory is better. I have or had most of the symptoms on your website but most of them have lessened considerably. I have been battling these symptoms for 23 years now! I also am taking the Healthy Foundation, it has helped me considerably with the fatigue. I will be reordering soon.

Thank you,
Chris B.

Yes the ThyroCare has helped me a lot; I am taking it along with my T3 therapy. My father died recently, and I figured I had better not even bother starting a new round of T3. So I doubled the ThyroCare and I somehow made it through. Thank You for a wonderful product.

Question & Answers

I am 45 and have struggled with acne since puberty. I took Acutane in my mid 20s which helped for a while, but it returned in my 30s. I finally convinced my doctor to test my T3 which she found low. I have been on Cytomel now for 6 months. Immediately my face and neck cleared up completely and has remained clear. I was wondering if anyone else has had a connection between acne and thyroid/T3? My daughter is now going through the acne stuff. Two different dermatologists have not been able to help her. Is there any research or statistics that would confirm my findings?

Thanks,
Dawna

Yes Dawna,

Acne can be related to low temperatures. I've seen it and heard it many times. Increased skin infections are a known symptom of decreased thyroid function, but I'm not aware of research that's been done on acne in Wilson's Syndrome per se. My own daughter was struggling with acne and a dermatologist wasn't able to do much for her either. It turns out that she had a low temperature also. We started her on ThyroCare and her temperature came up and her skin cleared up also.

So we can relate :-)

The furthest I could get my temperature was 98.4 on 60 mcg. I just didn't feel well on 67.5 and it didn't move my temp up anyway. I was holding the 98.4 for about 5 days when I started my cycle and my temp just dropped and is not very steady. I decided to stay on the 60 mcg until I was through menstruating. It is now day 6 and my temp seems to be coming back up. Is this normal? Thanks. Theresa

Yes Theresa,

As you may know, body temperatures can follow a cyclic pattern in normal women. The temperature tends to shift upward from lower to higher at the time of ovulation due to the influence of progesterone. The temperature then tends to shift back downward at the time of menstruation. Couples often chart the woman's temperature to help them see when the woman most likely ovulates so they can use that information to enhance the chances of conceiving.

The influence of the female hormones on the body temperature is still present when women are undergoing T3 therapy. The purpose of the T3 therapy is to shift the whole temperature pattern upward so that it is within a normal range.

The WT3 protocol errs on the side of correcting a person's low body temperature patterns. Thus, if a woman's temperature is lower than 98.6 during the early part of the month then the T3 can be increased, and if a woman's temperature is higher than 98.6 in the later part of the month then the T3 is not increased.

The monthly biphasic (two phases, low and high) pattern of body temperatures in women doesn't tend to interfere with the WT3 protocol. The protocol can be followed irrespective of why the woman's temperature may be low or high (because low temperatures can cause symptoms, no matter why they're low).

Best wishes,
Denis Wilson, MD

If you are low temp hypothyroid, or have Wilsons Temperature Syndrome, are some of the symptoms always hungry and have problems with sleep? (I wake up in the middle of the night, usually around 3am for a few hours.)
Thanks,
Ken

Absolutely Ken,

These can both be symptoms of low temperatures.

Cheers,
Denis Wilson, MD
