My name is Jenni. I am 52, married for nearly 30 years and have 5 adult children and 3 grandchildren. I discovered WTS only 5 months ago and "wow" it certainly has been the answer to so many of my questions. In fact it answered some that I thought could never be answered until I read your book. I have nearly returned my temperature to normal after it was sitting on 34 Celcius. I lost my dad 6 weeks ago, and I was able to maintain my temperature on 37 degrees Celcius for most of the time in the couple of weeks after his death. This made an amazing difference to how I could cope. Even one of my sons commented on how I was not stressed like he expected me to be, especially on the days coming up to the funeral and the day of the wake which was at our own home. I now recognize that I had this syndrome early in my life but it would come and go. It was especially prominent during all of my pregnancies where I would gain a lot of weight. I would be able to return to my normal weight within a year, but the moods you speak of in your book, they continued under all levels of stress...sometimes too numerous to mention. Then we moved to the country away from our supporting family. Two months later my husband had a near death accident during a football match. He had a severe knock and stopped breathing for 3 minutes in front of us all while on the football field. All is well now for him. Then 6 months later I had an operation on my ovaries, and it took 3 weeks before I could come out of the hospital and stay home without hemorrhaging. This triggered the beginning of not being able to come out of conservation mode, and over the next 15 years I have gradually put on weight as every stress came into my life whether it was a good or bad stress. I then tried one year of personal training and diet, and when I did not lose one pound, I knew there was something more to it. The research started to find out why and what I could do to help. I was reading a book on Coconut Oil and it had a part of the book that spoke about temperature of the body and gave a brief example of what WTS was. It struck a cord in me and I decided to Google more information, and I found out about WTS. Being in Australia and not knowing what was available here I ordered the books and started taking my temperature. By the time the books arrived I was ready to learn as much as I could before I went to the Doctor. All tests were within normal range but T3 lower than RT3, so based on this I got the script and found the chemist who did the slow release type of T3. I am on my 5th cycle now and stabilizing on 30 mcg a day. I fluctuated a little when we had 2 more deaths of friends. It is great to understand your body more. The two amazing things for me are that I have also lost a stone (14 pounds) since my temperature has stabilized, and I have found an eating plan and exercise regime that keeps me steady too. Only 3 stone (42 pounds) to gain my desired body shape, and I know I will make it. The other is my moods, I feel so different under stress now and understand my reactions, inappropriate as they were but I understand them, don't excuse them, and know that all things can be quite different. THANKS SO MUCH TO DR. WILSON AND HIS TEAM THAT HAVE PUT IN THAT EXTRA EFFORT WHEN THINGS DIDN'T MAKE SENSE AND FOUND US AN ANSWER. The solution is simple and once obtained it can easily stay that way. WOW, and it opens a whole new door to health.

I started the supplements a month ago and I'm doing well with them. I do feel alot better since I've been taking them. I was skeptical at first but after a month I can really feel a difference. Thanks, Jessica

I tried the T3 therapy and did not get the results I had hoped for. My TSH is normal and I have some of the symptoms of hypothyroidism. Do you ever have patients who do better on the supplements than on the T3? Brenda

Dear Brenda, Some people that aren't able to get their temperatures up with T3 alone often can when supplements are added. Some people are able to get their temps up on supplements alone when they didn't tolerate the T3 very well. Some people do well on the supplements alone, without every trying the T3. Hope that helps :-) Denis Wilson, MD

I was wondering if low thyroid could cause you to develop a rash, like eczema or psorisis, and cold hands? I've got both and I've never had trouble with rashes. Terri

Dear Terri, Yes, skin rashes can sometimes come on or worsen when temperatures drop and they can sometimes improve when temperatures are normalized. However, psoriasis does not respond as predictably and reproducibly as many of the other symptoms of WTS. Warmly, Denis Wilson, MD

Can hypothyroid candidates also be underweight (this is my problem)? Since reading your site I have been taking my temperature 3 times a day and it hovers around 96. When I asked my doc about the results, he said that my test results suggest a low thyroid, in which case he said I would be overweight. But clearly I'm very much underweight, but have all the other symptoms: constant anxiety, on and off depression, excessive thirst, tightness in the throat, cold hands and feet, shallow breathing, no appetite, digestive problems, acne, dry skin etc... I'm convinced that I have a problem with hypo, regardless of what the doctor says. Many thanks again for your wonderful site. Yves

Dear Yves, Yes, certainly, some patients with low temperatures are underweight. This may be due to impaired function of the digestive tract and malabsorption. Best wishes for a speedy recovery, Denis Wilson, MD
