I have just weaned off of round 2 of T-3. I haven't captured my temperature yet, but have come close. I will continue to use ThyroCare even if I stop T-3 to go back on Synthroid. I have seen a major improvement in my energy level since I have been taking ThyroCare. Thank you, Charlotte R.

Yes I have gone to a doctor in London - Dr Dermot o'Flynn and it was the best thing I could have done because he is the first doctor that has listened to me and understood that it is not all in my head. I have felt unwell for years, I am 42 years old, and had all the under active thyroid symptoms but my local GP did a blood test and because my thyroid T4 levels were low but normal she just put me on antidepressants. And recently I have had anemia and my doctor just said to take iron tablets for two months and all would be ok? It wasn't till a friend suggested I took my temperature and it was low all the time 95.6 - 95.8 that she suggested I did something about it and saw a private doctor. Kind regards, Jane B.

If I have a thyroid issue, will the Wilson's protocol help or must I treat the thyroid issue separately?

The Wilson's protocol can often be used to provide much benefit in spite of concurrent thyroid issues. For example, some people have hypothyroidism and Wilson's Temperature Syndrome. They can be treated with T3 therapy and feel much better. The T3 may not cure the hypothyroidism, but it can certainly address the symptoms due to thyroid hormone deficiency. Meanwhile the T3 can correct the WTS that is present. The same can be said for hypothyroidism due to Hashimoto's thyroiditis. Cheers, Denis Wilson, MD

My current doc said that I don't have to go on medicine yet, but he said that my thyroid "will probably wear out." I was very upset when he said this... is that right? How can he be so sure? I happened to have an infection at the time I was tested, and I asked if this has any bearing on my TSH results. He answered with an emphatic "NO." I'm not so sure because I've been reading about the link between Lyme Disease and thyroid function. A couple of years ago, my blood work showed that I had Lyme Disease at one point. Would you please comment? Finally, can TSH levels fluctuate? And, if they do, is that normal? For instance, say I'm on my period, would this affect my TSH levels? I've read conflicting information, and I would really like some clarification. My common sense tells me that if blood pressure, blood sugar and other things can change, then so can my TSH levels. Thanks for all your help! Laura

I think your questions can be translated to ... Is it possible that you could benefit from thyroid treatments now even though your blood tests are normal? Yes. Is it possible that your thyroid system can recover and that it might live healthy ever after? Yes. Left untreated can poor thyroid system function persist and worsen over time? Yes. Is there a test that shows necessarily whether that will happen or not? No. Can Lyme disease contribute to thyroid problems? Some doctors believe it can. Hope that helps, Denis Wilson, MD
