My doctor started me on T3 first. I used it for a long time (maybe 6 cycles - once for 3 or 4 months straight at 37.5 mg.) and did notice improvement in the way I felt, but could never capture my temperature. It still is at between 96.5 and 97.5.

So I stopped the T3 and started taking the ThyroCare. I am taking it twice a day. I feel pretty well, have more energy and less brain fog. I ran out of it once and felt much worse. So it is something that I probably can never do without.

I wish I could get my temperature up, but the expense of the medicine and the difficulty remembering to take the T3 on time was a problem for me.

I know you are on the right track with your supplements. Keep up the good work.

I have noticed improvement even though I have not taken the supplements [ThyroCare, Healthy Foundation] consistently. Now that school is out I intend to work on taking them more consistently. I have noticed:
mood uplift
periods of high energy
overall sense of well-being
absence of "overwhelm/panic" attacks

At the end of the year, as a music teacher I have a lot of responsibilities, and it was a relief to feel almost equal to the task.

I have not been tracking my temperatures, however, and will start that again.

Question & Answers

I have been suffering from complex migraine headaches for several years now and I can't really remember what it's like not to have a headache. I'm on medication they give to epileptics to try to reduce the severity. I have literally had one migraine last one year with medication only reducing the pain to a level that I could function. I take Imitrex shots and have gone through $1200.00 to $1800.00 dollars worth in one month. I am so sick of being sick and tired. Pain makes you depressed. Not being able to participate in life makes you depressed. My neurologist can't understand how I can work and take care of my children. If I didn't, I would be so depressed I might as well give up. I read a little about WTS and have always been amazed that my temperature is always very low 95.8-96.7. I used to even get out of school whenever I wanted because they would take my temp and send me home because it was so low. I'm hoping this could be the answer to my prayers. I'm really tired of all the drugs I take--200 mg topamax, alvil, vicidin, imitrex, flexeral, advil, aleve, and I still have a headache. I recently moved and had to change neurologists and was hoping that the new one would have a different approach, but he just gave me a new drug.

Dear Stacia,

Low temperatures are more than enough to explain migraines. I have three favorite symptoms to treat with the WT3 protocol: Migraines, PMS, and panic attacks. These are my favorites because they can be so debilitating and yet often respond extremely well to normalization of body temperatures.

What's amazing to me is that when the temperature is normalized, the migraines can not only improve and become less frequent...they can disappear completely, and they often remain improved even after the treatment has been discontinued. In the years to come, I think normalization of body temperatures will be the first approach considered for the treatment of migraines, not the last. It will be common place and common knowledge. I think people will talk of having migraines and the first thing people will ask them is, "What's your temperature run?"

Best regards,

I am taking the FibroCare and ThyroCare. I noticed right away that I don't have the morning stiffness/achiness and I am able to get by with less sleep and fewer symptoms than before. I have 3 kids (9 years, 3 years and 19 months), and the little ones have been waking at night and sometimes I only get 3-4 hrs of sleep before one or both decide to get up (at different times), then I only catnap the rest of the night and I am still able to function. A month ago that would not have been the case. We had a lot of rain the first week of this month and I was not really bothered by it.

I still have some problems with cold extremities and other thyroid symptoms (my thyroid was 1.4 so my doctor said I was normal), but they seem to be less bothersome.

I was wondering if I could take my female supplement (Psycles by Starlight International - starlightonline.com) along with the other two mentioned above? If I can, should I stagger the times or take at the same time. I used to take it at breakfast and dinner. I take WTS around 8am, 3pm and 10pm . If I am late with the last one of the day I notice it the next morning.

M. D.

Dear M.D.,

I know how difficult those nights with small children can be. Good luck with that. Yes, you can take WTSmed Supplements along with other supplements. However, considering your schedule, I don't think the possible advantage of staggering your times would outweigh the inconvenience.

Best wishes,

Have had weight problems for 15 years (since traumatic brain injury); was NEVER overweight until then. Was more active after injury and eat health foods, take herbs, vitamins, etc. Nothing helps. Body temp. runs from 93-97 degrees around clock with lower numbers in A.M. after awakening. Totally exhausted, sleepy, almost unable to function most of the time. Have had thyroid test after thyroid test. Benign nodules were found on thyroid three years ago, yet tests show thyroid functioning properly. What is wrong with me and why aren't doctors able to help me?

Many people with low temperatures who feel as you do have normal thyroid tests and still respond beautifully to the WT3 protocol. More than that, these people often remain improved even after the treatment has been discontinued.

This tells me that thyroid blood tests can't always predict who will and who will not respond well to thyroid medicine. It tells me that some thyroid-responsive problems are undetectable on thyroid tests. Most doctors are trained to think that thyroid blood tests are conclusive, when actually they are not.

I recommend that you check out the list of WTS Physicians on our website and consider Wilson's Temperature Syndrome as a possible explanation for what you are experiencing.

All the best,
Denis Wilson, MD
